  1. Now showing

    v1.11.0

    On GitHub ↗

    v1.11.0

    • Plays more video: the player now handles a much wider range of formats and audio tracks on every platform, including TrueHD, ProRes and picture subtitles (PGS).
    • Saved rooms rest between sessions: Premium rooms no longer sit in your lobby looking live after a session ends. They show as resting, and you can start a new session with one tap. Ended rooms can be resumed within 24 hours, and saved rooms you stop using are tidied up after 90 days.
    • Smoother subscriptions: Premium checkout on the web has a new payment provider behind it.
    • Subtitle backgrounds: subtitles can now have a background box for easier reading.
    • Fewer false alarms around audio devices, and assorted fixes.
  2. v1.10.0

    On GitHub ↗

    v1.10.0

    • New desktop room layout: The room now has a clean, docked cinema layout - a title bar across the top, the picture with its controls beneath, and chat in its own column beside it. Nothing floats over the video anymore, and it adapts smoothly at every window size.
    • Safer rooms: New moderation tools help keep rooms friendly, with clearer warnings and notices when someone breaks the rules.
    • Chat panel fix: Fixed an issue that could replace the chat with an error box when the window layout changed. Half-typed messages now survive resizing.
    • Faster room exit: Leaving or ending a room no longer freezes for a few seconds.
    • Subtitles stay clear: Subtitles now rise out from behind the controls when they float over the picture.
    • More reliable sign-in, video and sharing: Smoother Apple sign-in cancellation, friendlier messages for unsupported audio formats, steadier media uploads, and better handling of flaky connections.
    • Privacy page: Now states where your data is hosted.
  3. v1.9.0

    On GitHub ↗

    v1.9.0

    • Free-Room Video Trials: Free voice rooms can now start a 10-minute video facecam trial so everyone in the room can turn their camera on and experience facecams together.
    • Booth Light Design Polish: Reimagined light interface accents, sharp typography, refined room board composition, and cleaner controls across desktop, tablets, and phones.
    • Customizable Subtitles: Fully customizable libass subtitle rendering with sharper fonts, styling controls, and picture-track support.
    • Rich Chat & Quick Emojis: Expanded emoji picker and customizable quick-emoji bar integrated directly into the room chat composer.
    • Keyboard Shortcuts: Added quick keyboard shortcuts for desktop media controls (D for mic, E for camera, R for reactions).
    • Responsive & Foldable Layouts: Polished adaptive layouts tailored for tablets, foldables, and different window aspect ratios without layout clipping.
    • Audio & Video Reliability: Seamless background failover between voice/video servers so watch parties stay connected without interruptions.
    • Smoother Playback Sync: Improved catch-up mechanics after temporary network stalls to prevent playback skips.
  4. v1.8.0

    On GitHub ↗

    v1.8.0

    • Premium can now be bought in the Mac App Store app, alongside the website. A subscription from either unlocks Premium on every device.
    • App Store subscriptions show "Manage in App Store", and deleting your account now reminds you to cancel an App Store subscription first
    • More reliable Premium billing on the website: payment retries no longer remove Premium early, and webhook verification is stricter
    • New comparison pages and a better welcome for people opening their first invite link
  5. v1.7.1

    On GitHub ↗

    v1.7.1

    • Streaks, badges and leaderboards. Watching together now earns a daily streak, unlockable badges and a spot on the leaderboard, with a shareable session recap when you leave a room, and public profile pages at synctogether.app.
    • Sign in with a password, if you want one. Email sign-in now takes an optional password alongside the 6-digit code. The code always works, so a forgotten password is never a lockout.
    • A fullscreen button in the room control bar, beside the F/Esc shortcut.
    • Block and report. Blocking someone is now account-wide and permanent, hides them from chat and facecams instantly, and reports abusive content to us.
    • Refreshed homepage showing the real app, plus new App Store screenshots.
    • Internal: documentation, lint and refactor cleanups, plus a fix for the Windows installer build.
  6. v1.6.3

    On GitHub ↗

    v1.6.3

    • YouTube Playback Reliability: Resolved a readiness detection issue so YouTube videos sync up properly when your watch party is ready to start.
    • Storage Quota Display: Cleaned up the media storage quota screen for a clearer, more accurate view of your usage.

    • Sign In with Apple & Passwordless Email Code: Sign in or link your account directly using your Apple ID or request a quick one-time verification code sent straight to your email.

    • Detailed Media Quota Insights: Added an informative quota dialog showing exact file sizes, single-file ceilings, weekly bandwidth limits, and clear guidance when limits are approached.

    • Safety & Moderation Tools: Easily report inappropriate content, block or mute participants, and flag violations with built-in user reporting controls.

    • Refined Room Lifecycle & Mode Selection: Polished the room creation flow with instant mode selection (YouTube / Local File) and hardened room connection handling.

    • Smoother Rendering & Performance: Enhanced UI responsiveness, streamlined glass blur raster caching, and optimized media sharing and player lifecycle management.
